Location:  Koper, Slovenia; located in South-West Slovenia on the Adriatic coast
City Information:


Slovenia borders Italy, Austria, Hungary and Croatia with a surface area of just over 20,000 sq km and about two million inhabitants. Since 1 May 2004, it has been a member of the European Union. It has excellent geographical position, in the very heart of Europe, where the Alps meet the Mediterranean and where the limestone Karst extends to the Pannonian lowlands.

The city of Koper is lying on the Istrian peninsula in the South-West Slovenia on the Adriatic coast, only 20 km South of Trieste, Italy and about 30 km North of Croatian border. Besides Koper, there are other three important towns along the Slovenian coast, Izola, Piran and Portorož.



Eligible Students:  Second-semester Sophomore standing or greater with a GPA of 2.5; graduate students

Language of Instruction:  English, except for language courses
Duration of Program:  Academic year, "Winter" or "Spring" semester
Semester Dates:

- Winter: Beginning of October through February
- Spring: End of February through July
Academic Credit:  Transfer Credit
Grades:  Satisfactory/Unsatisfactory. Courses taken at the host institution will be counted as credit hours and apply to the student's degree and graduation; however, the courses will not affect the student's GPA.
Tuition:  Students pay their regular MSU Tuition
Program Fees/Student Activity Fees:  Students will be subject to the payment of course fees or student activity fees levied by the host university.
